Board of Directors Application

Our Board of Directors is a working board who volunteer time and effort to support our mission to foster local and regional community engagement by showcasing queer film programming, educational experiences, and social dialogue with a focus on Virginia and Southern voices. 

Our Board members are:

  • Community leaders
  • Film aficionados
  • Arts supporters
  • Strategic thinkers
  • Effective public speakers
  • Ambassadors for the Festival

Our Board members commit to:

  • Chairing or serving on a board committee (finance, fundraising, marketing and communications, programming, education, governance and nominating)
  • Attending monthly board meetings of one hour on the third Wednesday of each month (most meetings are via Zoom)
  • Devoting volunteer time and effort during the annual Festival.
  • Being present for film screenings and fundraising events during the course of the year.
  • Attending our annual Board Retreat
  • Contributing an annual minimum of $100 in either monetary or in-kind contributions.
